Description

"THE BUBBLE GALAXY"
- Deepfield 1500mm LRGBhA
- Constellation Leo

NGC 3521 is a faint, active barred spiral galaxy with extensive star-forming regions of the Hubble type SBdc in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic. It is estimated to be 30 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 110,000 light years.

Due to the irregular halo, it is assumed that a collision with another galaxy has taken place. The long spiral arms are irregular and interspersed with gaps, giving them a fuzzy appearance.
